Roads and Maritime Service – Wisemans Ferry Docking
As the builder of the Wiseman Ferry in 2007, Birdon was again selected to carry out her periodic survey and overhaul, thus maintaining the original quality and build standards of this iconic ferry.
The ferry was delivered and returned to the Hawkesbury by sea tow and was only out of service for 6 weeks as planned, despite a tight project schedule and some emergent works. The scope of the project included a complete blast and paint, antifouling and repairs to hull, ramps and fittings.
Birdon-built vehicular ferries operate at Settlement Point on the Hastings, Lawrence Crossing on the Clarence, Wymah Crossing on the Murray, and at Webbs Creek, Wisemans Crossing, and Sackville Crossing on the Hawkesbury River.
